the archivist of personal narrative

so - my Tell Motel project:

the acquisition and archiving of personal narratives in audio interview and transcription forms
(transcription to give a visual/ material experience of the text)

acquiring stories through responses from back page ads / craigslist / online posts etc

the reenactment of personal narratives _ who? how? what mediums involved? where? where is the audience?

issues with site specificity in relation to audience participation and engagement vs. the the inherent nomadic / non-site specificity of transitional dwelling spaces

  1. what are potential concerns with archiving personal narratives in the first place? how do we approach people for their stories? why am i wanting this information from them? what am i choosing to do with it? how do i honor their story? is it necessary to honr it ( i think for me it is).

something in my head about the button king - the use of buttons - discards - readymades - always available - easily accessible.

if i am collecting these stories - is the art in the process of acquisition? the hunt for the story? these are not as available as buttons. or plants. you have to cozx stories from people
    - engage them, pay attention to them, - so my personal investment - well - the acquisition of personal narrative is in itself a part of the performance. it is an artifice, in a way.
